The objective of Phase 2 was to move from “greenhouse production” towards an integrated production-and-distribution concept. This phase added scale, but also changed the nature of the project: the greenhouse was no longer just a growing facility, but part of a wider fresh-produce supply chain.
Technically, this meant that crop production, harvest logistics, sorting, packaging and outbound distribution had to be aligned. The ROST page describes the presence of a major distribution centre next to the greenhouses, where vegetables move directly onto sorting, packing and packaging lines.
